What better way to start out the new year than with a new killer office space! That’s what our friends at Miniter Group thought too!
When we first toured the space with the Miniter team, we new right away this was going to make for one heck of a before and after. Just take a look around at the humble beginnings of this killer office space…
To say they were a bit nervous that this drab, dark, pretty much claustrophobic space could become something they were excited and proud to call home is an understatement. Pretty much no windows, no real budget for any demo work and a decorating job that stopped somewhere circa 1980… We had definitely signed up for a fun challenge.
We spent a day deep diving into their space, their history and their needs and then took off running to meet our firm three month deadline. Here are a few highlights….
TOP SHELF PUB
Taking inspiration from their history we created a Boston inspired pub (named after the owner’s boat) to serve as a fun alternative for a standard every day breakroom. The space is equipped with everything a true pub offers and all a real breakroom needs. Custom designed and built booths, millwork and tables allowed for maximizing the seats in a small footprint. A unique branded space made this a location that stands out as a destination within the office, breaking up the monotony and creating an environment staff is exciting to visit as often as their work load allows (let’s just say happy hours are a LOT happier these days). They can brainstorm on the writeable top tables, watch the latest game on TV or crack into a brew or two.
ARTHUR’S COFFEE SHOP
Named after the original founder of the company, Arthur’s Coffee Shop is the perfect example of never underestimating the potential of a space. Originally an underutilized, closet like space with two awkward restrooms and no natural light, this space was presented as a Hail Mary to make something worth saving. Today it’s a bright, cheerful little coffee shop packed with character and fresh brew. Here again custom millwork and tables allowed us to create something fun and functional in a tight space. Dimensional coffee cups line the walls, fun plaid patterns wrap the doors and a fresh mint and white palette brighten up a drab space. Basically this went from how soon can you get me out of here to a space you just might never leave.
THE REST OF THE SPACE
From white dimensional signage on every door to bright hanging department and workstation signs we brightened things up in a way that make this space modern, welcoming and fun. Let’s just say it’s quite the 180 from where we started. If you ever find yourself in the Boston area and want to take a look around, just shoot us an email and we will get you a tour scheduled!
