THE MAIN SPACE
When Proteus approached our team, they were looking for a major facelift. They were full-steam-ahead with heads down for years. All of their energies were invested in building an amazing product and software solution that had changed the face of modern medicine. By the time they finally paused, they had grown up into a real company, but they hadn’t done all of those important “real company” things.
So, with their fresh branding and new leadership to steer them, we embarked on the journey to bring the true culture of Proteus to life across three diverse interior spaces.
Our challenge was to enhance the space and breathe new life into it. We knew that we needed to develop solutions that would hold true to the roots that founded the company; Solutions that would carry through to new employees and future spaces. To make sure we got this right, we took a deep dive into “Who Proteus has been” and “Where they are headed.” We also examined the day-to-day needs of a 24-hour staff. Having an around-theclock workforce puts a unique set of demands on the environment. With our list of “Must do’s” in mind, we set out to develop a space that would be professional, unique but just playful enough to keep things fun.
THE CONFERENCE ROOMS
The Proteus conference rooms carry on a long standing tradition within the company. Each conference room is named after an individual in history who made a profound impact on the future by challenging the way things were currently seen or done.
It was important that we not only honor that tradition but that we bring it to life in a way that honored the importance of the individual without compromising the playfulness of their culture. We developed a system that would stay in line with the brand and easily translate across all locations and spaces.
THE BREAKROOMS
When Proteus first announced that they were going to create digital medicine that communicates with your smart device, their plans were met with a resounding: Yeah right, when pigs fly!
That story inspired our branding of each location’s break area with a flying pig themed restaurant. So when you visit Proteus, you have your pick of THE FLYING PIG CAFE, THE FLYING PIG GALLEY and THE FLYING PIG FOOD TRUCK. We worked with the team to provide not only the unique branding for each space but to create a truly memorable experience with lighting, flooring and seating that aligned with each theme.
